Pakistan expands federal cabinet to 50 members
The Cabinet Division issued notifications for 25 new appointments, but Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) remains excluded

Pakistan's federal cabinet has been expanded for the first time in almost a year, increasing its membership to 50.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed 25 new members, adding new federal ministers, ministers of state, advisors, and special assistants. However, despite long-standing discussions, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has not been included in any significant positions.
The Cabinet Division issued notifications for 12 new federal ministers, 9 ministers of state, 3 new advisors, and 4 special assistants. The portfolios for the new appointees have yet to be announced. Among those promoted, Shaza Fatima, Ali Pervez, and Muhammad Ali moved from their previous positions as Ministers of State to Federal Ministers.
The expansion brings the total number of federal ministers to 30, with 9 ministers of state, 4 advisors, and 7 special assistants to the Prime Minister. Muhammad Ali was removed from his role as special assistant and has now been appointed as an advisor.
President Asif Ali Zardari administered the oath to the new cabinet members at a ceremony at the President House. However, three nominated ministers, Pir Imran Shah, Shazra Mansab, and Armaghan Subhani, were unable to attend and will take their oaths at a later time.
The new federal ministers include Hanif Abbasi, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Mustafa Kamal, Raza Hayat Hiraj, Khalid Magsi, Moin Wattoo, Sardar Yousaf, Aurangzeb Khichi, Rana Mubashir, Junaid Anwar, and Imran Shah. Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Ali Pervez Malik, already serving in the cabinet, were also promoted to federal ministers.

The new ministers of state include Talal Chaudhry, Mukhtar Bharat, Aun Chaudhry, Wajiha Qamar, Shazra Mansab, Bilal Azhar Kayani, Abdul Rehman Kanjo, Khel Das Kohistani, Armaghan Subhani, Barrister Aqeel, and Malik Rashid.
Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Syed Tauqeer Shah, and Muhammad Ali have been appointed as advisors to the Prime Minister.
The Cabinet Division also announced the appointment of four new special assistants to the Prime Minister: Haroon Akhtar, Huzaifa Rehman, Mubarak Zeb, and Talha Burqi.
Despite these appointments, the PPP, a key member of the ruling coalition, was not included in any major cabinet roles.
