Pakistani security forces killed 12 terrorists affiliated with the foreign-sponsored proxy "Fitna al-Hindustan" during a targeted intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Kalat District of Balochistan on Wednesday, the Pakistan Army media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said on Friday.

How did the intelligence-based operation in Kalat unfold?

According to the military's media wing, the tactical operation was launched following precise intelligence regarding the presence of a terrorist cell operating in the mountain terrain of Kalat. Security forces identified and monitored the insurgent hideout before executing a surgical action that resulted in an intense exchange of fire, neutralizing all 12 militants at the scene.

During the raid, assault troops seized and destroyed a substantial cache of military-grade weapons, ammunition, and prepared improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on site. Sanitization operations remain underway across adjacent valleys in Kalat district to eliminate any remaining remnants associated with the network.

How does the Kalat operation fit into the broader 'Azm-e-Istehkam' campaign?

The ISPR reiterated that law enforcement and security agencies will sustain counter-terrorism operations under the framework of "Azm-e-Istehkam" (Vision for Stability), which was formally sanctioned by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. The military emphasized its commitment to neutralizing foreign-funded proxies attempting to disrupt peace and economic stability across Balochistan.

The Kalat operation follows intensified security deployments along key transit corridors in Balochistan aimed at securing strategic highways and regional infrastructure against militant attacks.
