Pakistan pension reforms — who they will affect and how
Nukta Correspondent Sheraz Ahmed breaks down the changes
Pakistan is finally taking concrete steps to address its burgeoning pension problem, and it's starting with a ban on double pensions.
Double pensions were those being paid to employees retired from the country's armed forces, bureacracy or local government, who then went on to get second government jobs. This way, they would eventually get paid two pensions — one from their previous job and one from the second one.
