Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Friday, where he received a comprehensive briefing from the military leadership on the situation between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
During the visit, the Prime Minister was apprised of security developments, including what officials described as a nexus between “Fitna al-Khawarij” and the Afghan Taliban regime, as well as hostile activities targeting Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said zero tolerance would be adopted against the alliance between “Fitna al-Khawarij” and the Afghan Taliban regime and their subversive actions. He described their activities against Pakistan as unacceptable.
He expressed full confidence in Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, saying the Armed Forces of Pakistan remain fully prepared at all times to defend the country.

The Prime Minister reiterated that Pakistan knows how to defend itself against any aggression. He also commended the professional capabilities of the armed forces for repelling attacks along the border and carrying out a robust response.
Military operations
Earlier, Pakistan conducted precise military operations following repeated terrorist attacks originating from Afghan territory, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Thursday.
In a press release, the Foreign Office said the operations targeted groups identified as 'Fitna-e-Khawarij and Fitna-e-Hindustan,' as well as “unwarranted and provocative actions” by the Taliban regime on February 26.
The statement said Pakistan’s defense forces inflicted significant losses on these groups and targeted their logistical support bases inside Afghanistan. The government emphasized that the actions were taken under Pakistan’s right to self-defense to ensure the safety of its citizens and regional stability.
The Foreign Office warned any further provocations by the Taliban regime would be met with a “measured, decisive, and befitting response.”
Pakistan also urged the international community to send a clear message to the Taliban regime to take verifiable action against terrorist groups and end any support for them. The statement concluded that Pakistan reserves the right to take all appropriate measures under international law and the United Nations Charter to defend itself.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces for the defense of the motherland.
