Heavy snowfall has made roads dangerous in Murree, prompting authorities to restrict access to verified local residents only.

Heavy snowfall in Pakistan's Murree hill station led authorities to impose travel restrictions on Friday, with access to the hill resort limited to local residents amid worsening winter conditions.
Murree Police said continuous snowfall over the past 15 hours has resulted in extremely slippery roads and significantly reduced visibility across the area.
In view of the conditions, police have made it mandatory for all vehicles to be equipped with snow chains and winter tires before entering Murree during the weather spell.
Vehicles lacking these safety arrangements are not being permitted to enter.
Meanwhile, the district administration of Pakistan's capital issued a clarification on access to Murree, saying all entry points are open only to local residents as a precautionary measure.
According to the district administration, residents are being allowed entry only after verification of national identity cards, while all other traffic has been barred from entering the city.
Tourists have been strongly advised to postpone their travel plans until weather conditions improve.
Police have further urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel to Murree, particularly at night, to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.
Authorities reiterated that these measures were being enforced to safeguard lives and manage the situation effectively during the ongoing spell of harsh weather in the region.
