Pakistan and Saudi Arabia held high-level military talks on Wednesday to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation and discuss regional security challenges.

Lieutenant General Fahad Bin Saud Al-Johani, Commander of the Royal Saudi Land Forces, met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters (GHQ). The discussions focused on joint training, intelligence sharing, and opportunities to enhance operational readiness between the two countries.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening longstanding defense ties. Munir highlighted the importance of continued collaboration in capacity building, while Al-Johani praised the professionalism of Pakistan’s military and acknowledged its role in promoting regional stability.

The Saudi commander was received with a formal guard of honor upon arrival at GHQ.

Bahrain commander meets army chief

General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of Bahrain’s National Guard, also visited GHQ and met with Munir to discuss bilateral defense cooperation and regional security.

The Bahraini commander commended the professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces, while Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s longstanding partnership and support for Bahrain across multiple domains.

These engagements highlight Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to reinforce strategic defense partnerships with Gulf nations amid a complex regional security environment.
