Thirteen-company delegation to attend Future Minerals Forum
Saudi ambassador welcomes new cooperation opportunities
Pakistan will send a 13-company delegation to Saudi Arabia's Future Minerals Forum later this month as it seeks to attract global investment to its mining sector.
Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik announced the participation on Wednesday following a meeting with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki.
Pakistan will set up a dedicated pavilion titled "Pakistan: The Mineral Marvel" at the three-day forum, which runs January 13-15 at Riyadh's King Abdulaziz International Conference Center. The delegation will include both public and private sector companies.
The Future Minerals Forum, now in its fifth year, has become one of the mining industry's marquee gatherings, drawing executives from giants like Rio Tinto, Vale, and BHP. Last year's edition convened representatives from 89 countries.
Malik said the Riyadh showcase would serve as a precursor to the Pakistan Mineral Investment Forum 2026, scheduled for April, aimed at building momentum with international investors ahead of the domestic event.
Al-Maliki welcomed Pakistan's participation, saying the forum would open new avenues for cooperation in the minerals sector between the two countries.
