Pakistan, UAE sign MoUs on business, cultural and consular cooperation
MoUs signed for UAE-Pakistan Joint Business Council, cultural cooperation, and consular committee; UAE foreign minister also meets PM Shehbaz

Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates on Monday signed a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in business, culture, and consular affairs.
The agreements include the establishment of a UAE-Pakistan Joint Business Council, enhanced cultural collaboration, and the formation of a Joint Committee on Consular Affairs.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad as part of the latter's two-day official visit.
At a joint press conference, Sheikh Abdullah expressed the UAE’s desire to further strengthen ties with Pakistan, saying the relationship was “already growing at a good pace.”
“Both our leaders and our people want to see this relationship develop further. I want to stress that over the past year or two, progress has been faster than in quite some time,” he said.
According to a statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, the MoUs were signed following delegation-level talks led by Dar and the visiting dignitary.
“These documents are intended to further strengthen bonds between the people and business communities of both countries,” said the spokesperson of Pakistan’s Foreign Office.
The statement added that, along with bilateral relations, regional and global issues of mutual interest were also discussed in a frank and cordial atmosphere.
Sheikh Abdullah meets PM Shehbaz
Later in the day, the UAE foreign minister called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House.
According to a statement from the PM Office, the premier reaffirmed the deep-rooted fraternal ties between Pakistan and the UAE, grounded in shared history, mutual respect, and strong cultural and economic linkages.
He conveyed his greetings to the UAE President and appreciated the Emirates' continued support across multiple sectors.
Expressing satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral ties, PM Shehbaz emphasized the need to boost cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and people-to-people exchanges.
He also reiterated Pakistan’s desire to transform strong political ties with the UAE into a robust economic partnership.
The two sides also discussed regional and global developments.
Sheikh Abdullah acknowledged the contributions of the Pakistani community in the UAE and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and exploring new avenues for collaboration.
