You can’t grow the economy by pressuring businesses. That’s Aqeel Karim Dhedhi’s warning ahead of Pakistan’s budget 2026.

The AKD Group chairman says the government should stop relying on higher taxes and “coercive taxation” and instead focus on expanding the tax net, ending the Super Tax, and creating a business-friendly environment.

He also warned that excessive powers given to the FBR are hurting investor confidence and pushing businesses away.
