Pakistan's IT exports hit a second-highest monthly record of USD 435 million in September
Pakistan’s information technology and technology exports reached USD 435 million in September 2026, marking the second-highest monthly total on record, according to Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad.
In a post on X, Schehzad said exports were just USD 2 million short of the record USD 437 million recorded in December 2025. The September figure represented an 18% increase year-on-year and a 10% rise from August.
Exports for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27, covering July to September, totalled USD 1.25 billion, up approximately 18% from the same period last year, he said.
Schehzad attributed the growth to targeted incentives introduced in the FY27 budget for exporters, particularly the IT sector, alongside the expansion of Pakistan’s digital economy.
He said the increase was supporting export earnings, foreign exchange inflows that do not create debt, high-value employment and Pakistan’s integration with global markets.
The latest figures follow a record performance in fiscal year 2025-26, when Pakistan’s technology exports reached approximately USD 4.6 billion.
