Dr Fazeela Abbasi, a prominent dermatologist and social media personality, has approached the Islamabad High Court seeking pre-arrest bail in a money laundering case involving approximately PKR 2.5 billion.

Court officials said the Registrar Office has fixed her petition for hearing on Tuesday. The case will be heard by Justice Azam Khan, who will take up her application for protective bail.

Dr Abbasi is wanted by Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in connection with alleged large-scale financial irregularities and money laundering.

Authorities say the case involves suspected laundering and concealment of funds amounting to around PKR 2.5 billion.

A trial court had earlier granted her bail, which was later revoked after she failed to appear during proceedings. Following her non-appearance, the court canceled her bail, making her liable to arrest.

After the cancellation, Dr Abbasi moved the Islamabad High Court seeking legal protection against arrest. Her petition requests pre-arrest bail until the case is decided.

The hearing is expected to determine whether she will receive interim relief or face possible arrest as the FIA investigation continues.
