Khalid is a battle-hardened sports journalist with a career spanning over 34 years. From a roving reporter, he switched to leadership roles in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Squash legend Qamar Zaman has issued a powerful reminder of what Pakistan once meant to the world of squash and what it could still become.
Speaking on Circle of Champions, Zaman shared memories of his British Open glory and detailed the support system that allowed Pakistani players to shine on the world stage.
The former world No.1 recalled how PIA’s consistent backing ensured that players had international exposure, training, and job security. But with the collapse of that institutional support, he said, squash in Pakistan lost its footing.
He urged authorities to rebuild a system that nurtures talent from the grassroots, echoing the need for academies, professional coaching and transparency to bring squash back to its rightful place.
