Talented Hareem steals limelight with 8 golds at Sindh Swimming

Karachi Grammar School clinched the title with a commanding total of 533 points

Karachi Grammar School (KGS) clinched the title of the 31st Sindh Open Swimming Championship with a commanding total of 533 points.

The competition was held at the Karachi Gymkhana swimming pool, where CAS School secured second place with 176 points, and Karachi Club finished third with 129 points.

Organized by the Sindh Swimming Association, the championship featured 377 female swimmers representing various educational institutions. Several new records were set during the event.

KGS’s 16-year-old Hareem Malik was declared the Best Swimmer of the Championship. Displaying outstanding performance, Hareem broke five records and won a total of eight gold medals.

Speaking exclusively to Nukta, Hareem Malik said she had trained throughout the year for this event. She credited her success to the strong support of her school coaches and parents.

Hareem added that Pakistan has no shortage of talent but needs better facilities and more opportunities for athletes to compete at higher levels.

She is scheduled to depart for Saudi Arabia on Wednesday to participate in the Islamic Solidarity Games. Hareem also mentioned that she will be representing Sindh in the upcoming National Championship and National Games.
