'Turri Jandi' singer Hasan Raheem drops new EP
1 2 3 4 5 follows 2023's Maybe, It's Love; releases on the heels of Raheem's most recent Coke Studio appearance on 'Turri Jandi' with Shazia Manzoor.
'Quiet and conversational' is possibly the best way to describe singer-songwriter Hasan Raheem's music. His tracks are marked by a very intimate style of singing, enhanced by the layers of sound and music that the artist seems to favor for his work.
Raheem is possibly most widely known for his singles 'Aisay Kaisay', 'Joona', and Coke Studio turn on 'Peechay Hutt' with Justin Bibis and Talal Qureshi. You may also have loved or hated him on a remix of Nazia Hassan classic, 'Aap Jaisa Koi', reimagined for an ice cream brand.
As with any new artist, genre, or format, if you truly want to understand what makes them tick, you have to give some of their work a shot. And while this is not his first full-length album or EP, 1 2 3 4 5 still makes for an excellent intro to the artist and his art.

Five tracks, complete with (sometimes inscrutable) animated videos have released across platforms, and are ripe for a listen - or watch.
The first track off 1 2 3 4 5 is a glimpse at what to expect as an overall theme for the EP and its visual. A little thoughtful, slightly nostalgic, and sprawling with confident ease, 'Yaadein' leads us into a story that also ends before our eyes.
With production on different tracks by Abdullah Kasumbi, Varqa Faraid & Shamsher Rana, and Shehryar Khan, 1 2 3 4 5 maintains that mellow, introspective Hasan Raheem sound, and despite not being the peppiest, is the kind of music you could find lifting your heart just a bit when you need it most.
