UAE names three suspects in murder of Moldovan citizen
Authorities emphasize commitment to safety and swift justice
The UAE Ministry of Interior announced on Monday that preliminary investigations are underway following the arrest of three individuals involved in the murder of Moldovan national Zvi Kogan.
The suspects are currently being questioned by security authorities before the case is referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal proceedings.
The ministry identified the suspects as Uzbek nationals: Olimboy Tohirovich, 28; Makhmudjon Abdurakhim, 28; and Azizbek Kamilovich, 33
Kogan’s family reported him missing on Thursday (November 21), prompting authorities to initiate a search and investigation. His body was later discovered, and the ministry confirmed the arrests were made in what it described as "record time", according to WAM.
While details of the investigation remain under wraps, officials assured that comprehensive information, including the location where Kogan’s body was found and the cause of death, will be disclosed upon the conclusion of the inquiry.
The UAE Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the safety and security of all citizens, residents, and visitors. It highlighted the nation's robust security apparatus, which has been pivotal to its stability since its founding.
In a statement, the ministry stressed that it will respond decisively to any actions or attempts that threaten societal harmony.
It vowed to implement all necessary legal measures to protect peace and coexistence, adhering strictly to the country’s laws and regulations.
