The UAE Ministry of Interior has announced the start of implementing the entry procedure for Emirati citizens into the ‘Global Entry’ program, marking a significant milestone in the agreement signed between the governments of the United Arab Emirates and the United States, represented by the UAE Ministry of Interior and the US Department of Homeland Security, according to WAM.

The agreement, which was formalized during President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan's official visit to the United States in September, enables UAE citizens to join the US border protection initiative designed for expedited entry into the country for tourism, business, and personal visits.

Through the Global Entry program, Emirati travelers can benefit from streamlined entry procedures at designated transit gates in various US airports. This advancement is expected to enhance the travel experience for UAE citizens while further strengthening the robust bilateral relationship between the UAE and the United States.

Seen as a testament to the UAE’s esteemed international reputation, this initiative facilitates smoother access for UAE citizens at over 75 US ports of entry, aiming to ease travel by reducing wait times and minimizing paperwork requirements.

After applying through the official US website participants will undergo a security background check and can access automated verification devices at entry points.

While the Global Entry program provides an expedited process, travelers are reminded that they must still possess a valid US entry visa. This program underscores the UAE and US’s commitment to fostering stronger ties and supporting smoother, more efficient travel for UAE nationals.
