The UAE Floating Hospital has provided essential medical care to 7,534 Palestinian patients since its launch, delivering life-saving treatment to those affected by the ongoing conflict in Gaza, officials said.
According to Dr. Mohammed Rashid Al-Kaabi, the hospital’s medical director, the facility has performed 2,561 surgeries, provided physical therapy to 2,850 patients, and fitted 21 prosthetic limbs for amputees.
The hospital, part of the UAE’s Operation Gallant Knight 3, continues to admit Gaza patients, with around 30 individuals receiving care since the latest ceasefire began. Dr. Al-Kaabi reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to delivering top-tier medical and humanitarian support.
The 100-bed floating hospital, which departed from the UAE in February 2024, operates under a partnership between the UAE Ministry of Defence, the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, and the Abu Dhabi Ports Authority.
It is staffed by medical experts from the UAE and Egypt, specializing in general surgery, orthopedics, anesthesia, and emergency care.
Beyond the floating hospital, the UAE has been a key humanitarian donor in Gaza, contributing 42% of all aid delivered to the region.
The country’s donations have exceeded $828 million, including the establishment of two field hospitals—one specifically focused on providing prosthetic limbs for Palestinians injured in the war.
Since the launch of the operation, the UAE’s field hospital in Gaza has treated over 50,000 patients, reinforcing its role as a leading provider of humanitarian relief amid the crisis.
