“The UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign seeks to engage the public, institutions, and both public and private sector organizations in this vital humanitarian effort.
Under directives issued by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has launched a philanthropic campaign to support the people of Lebanon.
The campaign, announced by Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, aims to foster community involvement and gather support from various sectors.
Scheduled to run from October 8 to October 21 under the slogan “The UAE Stands with Lebanon,” the campaign seeks to engage the public, institutions, and both public and private sector organizations in this vital humanitarian effort.
In a statement, Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized the UAE’s commitment to assisting Lebanon during its ongoing humanitarian crisis. He expressed confidence in the ability of the UAE community to rally together in support of those facing adversity.
The announcement follows President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s recent decision to provide an urgent relief aid package worth US$100 million to aid the Lebanese people. This package includes the dispatch of six planes carrying approximately 205 tonnes of essential medical supplies, food, and shelter materials.
The UAE’s efforts are being carried out in collaboration with international partners, including the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
