Yas Clinic Khalifa City and the Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Center (ADSCC) have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ohio University to advance research and innovation in cellular and gene therapies.

The agreement positions Abu Dhabi as a growing hub for cutting-edge medical science and global collaboration, according to a WAM report.

The signing ceremony coincided with a scientific exchange event that gathered international researchers, clinicians, and medical leaders to discuss stem cell innovation, emerging cellular therapies, and new clinical applications with potential to transform patient care. Sessions highlighted ADSCC’s stem cell programs, global advances in cell and gene therapies, and therapeutic developments beyond oncology.

The collaboration seeks to strengthen international research networks, facilitate knowledge exchange, and support the development of innovative treatments in hematology, oncology, and regenerative medicine. It underscores Abu Dhabi’s commitment to integrating scientific research with practical healthcare solutions.

Dr. Maysoon Al Karam, Chief Medical Officer at Yas Clinic – Khalifa City, said: “This partnership reflects our goal of turning research into real-world impact. Working with ADSCC and Ohio University expands our academic and clinical ecosystem and accelerates innovation in cellular and gene therapies for the benefit of patients worldwide.”
