The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who arrived in Abu Dhabi on a fraternal visit to discuss regional developments, security challenges, and enhanced bilateral cooperation, WAM reported.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from both countries. From the UAE, participants included Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Adviser to the President Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan.

Qatar’s delegation included Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, and the Emir’s Personal Representative Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The leaders reviewed ongoing military escalation in the region and its implications for regional and international stability, maritime security, and global energy markets.

They addressed recent attacks attributed to Iranian-backed groups targeting the UAE, Qatar, and other countries, including strikes on civilian infrastructure, and discussed measures to safeguard national security, sovereignty, and the safety of their populations.

The two leaders also explored ways to strengthen diplomatic, economic, and strategic ties across multiple sectors to support development priorities and mutual interests.
