Pakistan slashes used car duties but part of auto industry is devastated

The Pakistan government has decided to slash duties on used car imports and allow vehicles up to 10 years old into Pakistan.

Good news, right? But a part of the local auto industry has been plunged into crisis mode.

Auto parts makers warn that this move could jeopardize 500,000 livelihoods and force factories to shut down, as production remains at just 30% of capacity.
