Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has expressed his desire to see Pakistan and India play each other in cricket, saying that the governments of both countries will have to decide on the matter.

Akram, regarded among the greatest pacer in cricket history, made the comments while talking to the media in Karachi on Monday.

"We can only hope for the best," Akram said. "The governments will have to decide on this issue. I cannot say much on the matter, but I hope sanity prevails and things get better.”

He highlighted the emergence of young talent in HBL PSL 10, including players like Hassan Nawaz, Ali Raza and Salman Mirza.

Akram also praised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and other stakeholders for their efforts in bringing back the PSL after it was postponed briefly due to Pakistan-India conflict.

Regarding the upcoming series against Bangladesh, Akram downplayed concerns about the absence of key players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi, saying that the “senior players still have a lot of cricket left in them”.
