Dubai Police issued an urgent safety alert Tuesday morning as a thick fog blanketed large parts of the city, significantly reducing visibility. The dense fog prompted Authorities to lower speed limits to 80 km/h on several major roads.
Abu Dhabi Police also urged drivers to exercise extreme caution, reminding motorists to adhere to speed limits displayed on electronic information boards and to remain alert behind the wheel.

The fog disrupted traffic across key routes, with hundreds of cars and lorries pulling onto the hard shoulder of the E11 road, which connects Dubai to Abu Dhabi. This caused traffic to slow to a crawl, leading to delays for commuters and freight transport.
The National Centre of Meteorology issued a fog alert for both coastal and inland areas of the Emirates, warning that the fog could persist until at least 9 a.m. This morning, the NCM also recorded the lowest temperature in the country, at 20.2°C.
