Emirates has been crowned the “World’s Best Airline” in a comprehensive study conducted by Telegraph Travel. The ranking assessed 90 global airlines, with Emirates emerging at the top.

Qatar Airways and Etihad also ranked in the top 10, while other Middle Eastern carriers like Oman Air and Saudia received notable recognition.

The rankings were determined based on more than 30 factors, including punctuality, baggage allowance, route network, fleet age, and the quality of in-flight services. Emirates stood out for its excellence in nearly every category, from its generous baggage policies to its reliable punctuality.

The airline operates the world’s largest fleet of double-decker Airbus A380s, providing spacious and comfortable seating across all cabins, including economy. The A380’s premium economy class was highlighted as the best in the skies, while its business class offers a chauffeur service, and first-class passengers enjoy the finest wine selection and even in-flight showers.

Emirates’ vast route network spans 140 cities across 77 countries, contributing to its recognition as the best long-haul carrier by 30,000 readers of Telegraph Travel. The study compiled data from over 18 independent awards, polls, reviews, and expert assessments, ensuring a thorough and accurate evaluation of each airline.

Qatar Airways ranked second, praised for its innovative Q Suite, regarded as the best business class in the sky. Its upcoming first-class cabin is expected to redefine luxury air travel. Even economy-class passengers benefit from exclusive perks, such as a more intimate cabin located on the upper deck of the A380 for long-haul flights.

Etihad secured ninth place, with the report noting that the Abu Dhabi-based airline operates more like a boutique carrier compared to its larger regional competitors. Etihad’s modern fleet of A350s and refurbished Boeing 787s, along with high marks for punctuality, spacious legroom, and in-flight dining, were key factors contributing to its strong performance.

The independent study also ranked other prominent airlines, such as Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Turkish Airlines, among the top contenders. Emirates continues to solidify its position as a global aviation leader, having received an additional 19 awards in 2024 alone.
