Emirates Nature-WWF launches free environmental training for UAE’s nature lovers
‘Nature’s Resilience’ offers 10 sessions about ecological concerns and their solutions, starting July 9.
Those who deeply care about environmental issues and want to find effective solutions are welcome to join Emirates Nature-WWF’s latest initiative. The non-profit organization announced a free summer training series, ‘Nature’s Resilience,’ as part of their Leaders of Change program to bring attention to the UAE’s nature and upskill the community on its protection. The first session is scheduled for July 9.
This year’s topic will be the exceptional diversity of life in the country, from golden deserts and rocky mountainsides, to picturesque seafronts.
Over the course of 10 weeks, eco-enthusiasts will get a chance to learn more about UAE’s rare and endangered species, pollinators, migratory and resident birds. They will discover how our well-being is related to biodiversity and climate change. Engaging masterclasses and workshops with experts will also provide knowledge on how to make a difference and protect the local natural heritage.
Those who manage to complete at least seven sessions will receive a certificate. Registration is open now.
“We are delighted to launch the ‘Nature’s Resilience’ series, which builds upon the success of last summer’s climate training series,” said Arabella Willing, Head of Conservation Outreach and Citizen Science at Emirates Nature-WWF. “This series is very action-oriented, and it prepares the community to drive positive impact through citizen science and conservation field trips which will resume after the summer.”
‘Nature’s Resilience’ is the second initiative of the Emirates Nature-WWF. Last year, they started the ‘Climate and Nature’ series, which brought together nearly 1,000 UAE eco-advocates and got a satisfaction rating of 98%. It offered sessions on Climate Fresk, Food for Thought, and the Planetary Boundaries, as well as seven events that were hosted by experts.
