Pakistan's federal budget will be presented on June 10 as scheduled
Finance ministry adviser dismisses speculation over possible Eidul Azha-related delay

Pakistan government will announce federal budget on June 10 and there has been no change in the schedule as rumored in the market, said Adviser to the Finance Minister, Khurram Schehzad on Thursday.
He reaffirmed that the planned announcement date of June 10 remains unchanged.
There were rumors in financial markets that the budget might be delayed. Eidul Azha is expected to be on June 7, according to Suparco, which means the third day of the holiday would be the same day the Economic Survey is set to be released.
Many government employees in Islamabad usually travel to their hometowns for Eid. Since the Economic Survey is scheduled for the third day of Eid and the budget announcement the next day, some people wondered if officials would return in time for work.
His statement, posted on X, came amid media reports suggesting the budget might be rescheduled due to the Eidul Azha holidays. “As communicated earlier, the upcoming Federal Budget FY26 is on schedule to be announced on June 10, 2025,” Schehzad wrote.
“Similarly, the upcoming Pakistan Economic Survey FY25 is scheduled to be announced on June 9, 2025.”
Last week, Schehzad had previously announced that the budget and economic survey would proceed as planned, despite speculation over potential changes.
