Hamida Bano: Lost in Pakistan, reunited in India

Hamida Bano, who was missing for 20 years and reunited with her family through the help of social media, left for India on 16th December, 2024.

Trafficked to Pakistan in 2002 under the false promise of a job in Dubai, Hamida endured decades of hardship. Her daughter recognized her in a video shared in July 2022, leading to the start of her journey back home.

Before departing for India, Hamida Bano shared her journey, cherished memories, and heartfelt reflections on leaving Pakistan in an exclusive conversation with Nukta’s Chief Correspondent, Shumaila Khan.
