A 70-year-old man from Rawalpindi collapsed and died at Pakistan’s Supreme Court on Friday after a hearing in his case was deferred.
Abid Hussain suffered a heart attack at the Supreme Court reception while returning from the courtroom and passed away on the way to the hospital, according to local sources.
Hussain had a pending legal matter regarding the construction of his house. The hearing, originally scheduled for Friday, had been adjourned.
The case was set before a two-member bench consisting of Justice Irfan Saadat Khan and Justice Shahzad Malik. It was listed as Serial No. 8 under the title Muhammad Ramzan vs Abid Hussain.
The petition was initially filed in the Supreme Court on July 22, 2024.
Its first hearing took place on November 11, 2025, with Friday’s session intended to be the second hearing.
