UAE-based Lulu Group, one of the Middle East’s largest retail chains with over 260 stores worldwide, has opened its 70th hypermarket in Saudi Arabia, expanding its footprint to the city of Taif.

The new outlet — spanning nearly 196,000 square feet — was inaugurated by Taif Mayor Abdullah bin Khamis Al Zaidi, alongside UAE and Indian diplomats, Gulf News reported.

It offers groceries, electronics, fashion, beauty, and dining, with modern features including six self-checkout counters, 500 parking spaces, and an upgraded food court.

“This new hypermarket is designed to enhance the shopping experience for the people of Taif while contributing to local economic development and providing employment opportunities for the community,” said Lulu Group Chairman Yusuffali.

The launch included special promotions across categories and a cultural tribute.

Lulu staff were recognized for creating a Guinness World Record–winning shattered glass artwork to mark Saudi National Day.

Senior Lulu executives, including Executive Director Ashraf Ali M.A. and KSA Director Mohamed Haris Puthiyaveettil, joined regional officials at the ceremony.
