The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned a foiled plot aimed at undermining the security and stability of the United Arab Emirates, expressing full solidarity with Abu Dhabi and praising the vigilance of its security services.
In a statement reported by WAM, the OIC General Secretariat said it firmly stands with the UAE and supports all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and internal stability. It reiterated its rejection of all forms of terrorism, violence, and extremism, regardless of motive or justification.
The statement comes amid broader regional reactions following the UAE’s announcement that its security authorities had dismantled a cell allegedly planning covert operations to destabilize the country.
Officials said the group had been preparing sabotage activities and was linked, according to investigators, to external ideological networks.
Earlier, the Arab Parliament also denounced the alleged conspiracy, describing it as a direct threat to Emirati security and praising the UAE for successfully foiling the plan and detaining those involved. Parliament President Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi reaffirmed the body’s full support for Abu Dhabi’s efforts to protect national security and stability.
He called for stronger Arab and international cooperation to counter extremism and terrorism in all forms, particularly those targeting the stability of states in the region.
Authorities in the UAE said investigations are continuing into the network’s structure, recruitment methods, and alleged foreign links.
