Both leaders noted the historic significance of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Sunday with China’s Executive Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang in Beijing, reaffirming their commitment to deepening bilateral ties, Pakistan’s Foreign Office said.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, the two sides reiterated their shared commitment to further strengthening the Pakistan–China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

Vice Premier Ding appreciated Pakistan’s consistent support to China on issues of core interest, the statement said.

Both leaders noted the historic significance of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

They agreed to utilize the milestone to chart a forward-looking vision for enhanced cooperation, including under the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Ding also conveyed New Year greetings to the leadership and people of Pakistan.

Earlier on Sunday, Dar also met Liu Haixing, minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, during his official visit.

During that meeting, Dar congratulated Liu on the successful convening of the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction over the steady and forward-looking trajectory of Pakistan–China bilateral relations.

They reviewed party-to-party exchanges, discussed regional developments and assessed progress on various projects under CPEC.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation across multiple domains.

The leaders also agreed to jointly commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in a befitting and meaningful manner.

Dar's China visit

Dar is visiting China to co-chair the 7th Pakistan–China Strategic Dialogue, an institutional framework covering political, economic and security cooperation.

Pakistan and China share longstanding strategic, political, economic, defense and cultural relations.

Islamabad and Beijing maintain close coordination on regional and international issues and frequently support each other’s core interests at multilateral forums.

Pakistan considers China a key investment partner, particularly under the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Under CPEC, China has invested billions of dollars in Pakistan’s energy and infrastructure sectors over more than a decade.

During Dar’s visit, the two foreign ministers are also expected to announce a series of initiatives and commemorative activities to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations in 2026, the Foreign Office said in an earlier statement.

China is also one of Pakistan’s major trading partners.
