India secured their place in the semi-finals of the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026 with a 58-run win over Pakistan in the Super Six stage at Bulawayo. The victory takes the five-time champions to eight points in Group 2, level with England, with both teams advancing to the last four. Pakistan needed to chase 253 in 33.3 overs or less to qualify for the semi-finals, but their plan fell apart after losing key wickets.
Batting first, India posted 252, anchored by Vedant Trivedi’s watchful 68 off 98 balls. Middle-order contributions from Vihaan Malhotra, Abhigyan Kundu, and R.S. Ambrish helped stabilize the innings after three quick wickets toppled the top order. Lower-order hitters Kanishk Chouhan (35) and Khilan A. Patel (21) ensured India crossed the 250-mark.
Pakistan’s chase began positively, reaching 151 for two thanks to opener Hamza Zahoor (42) and Usman Khan’s 66. Captain Farhan Yousaf contributed 38, putting Pakistan in a strong position to meet the semi-final qualification requirement. However, Yousaf’s dismissal triggered a dramatic collapse.
From there, Pakistan lost eight wickets for just 43 runs. Ayush Mhatre (3/21) and Khilan A. Patel (3/35) led the Indian bowling effort, removing the set batters and cleaning up the tail. Pakistan were eventually bowled out for 194, falling short of both the target and the required run rate, handing India a comprehensive 58-run win.
