Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif clarified in Islamabad on Tuesday that the recent Iran-US diplomatic agreement contains no ballistic missile clause.

Sharif addressed reporters alongside Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to counter international efforts aimed at sabotaging the peace accord. The high-level bilateral talks focused on regional stability and expanding neighborly cooperation.

Is there a ballistic missile clause in the new agreement?

The negotiated agreement between Iran and the United States contains absolutely no reference to ballistic missiles.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed the issue was never part of the official agenda or active mediation talks. He emphasized that Iran refused to discuss its defense capabilities and warned external forces against misrepresenting the pact.

The clear defense of the agreement occurred during a joint press conference following extensive delegation-level talks in the capital city.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir attended these crucial high-level meetings. The diplomatic gathering marked the first official foreign trip for President Pezeshkian since the announcement of the bilateral ceasefire.

Sharif strongly criticized the persistent double standards displayed by Western nations regarding international defense policies and regional security architectures.

He argued that global powers cannot possess advanced weapon systems while simultaneously denying the exact same sovereign rights to Iran. The prime minister stated that this evident geopolitical hypocrisy remains entirely impossible to justify on the international stage.

What role did Pakistan play in the US and Iran ceasefire?

Pakistan acted sincerely as a central mediator to facilitate the historic end of direct hostilities between Washington and Tehran.

Sharif conveyed his warmest wishes to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei while praising his resilient leadership throughout the tense diplomatic process.

The premier reaffirmed that Pakistan remains deeply committed to promoting long-term peace, economic stability, and shared regional prosperity.

The premier lauded the incredible courage of the Iranian leadership and reaffirmed a commitment to expanding cooperation across all functional sectors.

Sharif noted that a true friend always stands by your side during highly challenging economic and political times. He stated that the happiness and success of the Iranian nation directly parallel the choices and success of Pakistan.

President Pezeshkian arrived safely at Nur Khan Airbase aboard a special aircraft, where top Pakistani state executives warmly received the delegation.

The state arrival included a traditional 21-gun salute and a ceremonial flypast by Pakistan Air Force JF-17 fighter jets. Authorities enforced extraordinary security measures across the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to safeguard the visiting foreign dignitaries.

More than 600 police officers were deployed along key transit routes to manage strict traffic controls during the official VIP movements.

President Pezeshkian accepted the joint invitation from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to further solidify vital bilateral relations. The ongoing diplomatic visit will likely result in the signing of several historic agreements between the two neighboring countries.
