President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari will undertake an official visit to the United Arab Emirates from January 26 to 29, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Monday.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the president will be accompanied by a high-level delegation during the visit.

While in the UAE, President Zardari will hold meetings with the UAE leadership "to review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations". The talks will focus on strengthening cooperation in key areas, including trade and economic partnership, defense and security, and people-to-people contacts. Regional and international issues of mutual interest will also be discussed.

The visit comes in the wake of the recent visit of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates to Pakistan and reflects the deep-rooted ties between the two countries.

It also reaffirms the shared commitment of Pakistan and the UAE to further transform their strong friendship into a mutually beneficial and rewarding partnership.

The UAE is one of Pakistan’s key economic partners and a major source of investment, remittances, and employment for Pakistani nationals.

The two countries have stepped up high-level engagement in recent months, with leaders on both sides emphasizing closer economic cooperation and regional coordination.
