Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, 41, is the second son of Sheikh Mohammed and has held the title of Crown Prince of Dubai since 2008. He graduated from Britain’s elite Sandhurst military college in 2001 and has been the Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council since 2006, where he has overseen the strategic development plans for the emirate.
Sheikh Mohammed, who has held the position of Defence Minister since the founding of the UAE in 1971, said his son’s appointment is a strategic move to continue shaping the future of the UAE. Sheikh Hamdan was also appointed Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE.
Importantly, he shares the title with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who was also appointed as Deputy Prime Minister. He is the UAE’s long-serving Foreign Minister and brings strategic importance in the cabinet’s new structure.

Furthermore, Alia Abdullah Al Mazrouei has been named the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship. With experience in both the private and government sectors, her aim is to create more economic opportunities for UAE nationals, aligning with the growth of the national economy.

Change is part of the development journey, and development is part of an ambition that knows no bounds.
