US President Donald Trump on Tuesday met UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France, calling the Emirati leader a "warrior" and praising the UAE's role during the Iran war.

Trump confirmed he would release the full text of the memorandum in a formal setting. He also said he was open to sending the agreement to Congress for review, a request backed by some Republican lawmakers.

"I think it's going to go pretty quickly," he said of the next phase of talks with Tehran.

What does the US-Iran memorandum of understanding say?

The memorandum states clearly that Iran will not develop or acquire nuclear weapons, Trump said. He described preventing Iranian nuclear capability as the central objective of the agreement, adding: "The only thing that really matters to me is Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, and it says it loud and clear." A second phase of negotiations is moving toward a 60-day deadline.

What did Trump say about the UAE at the G7 summit?

Trump praised Sheikh Mohamed as a "warrior" who stood alongside Washington during the Iran war, saying he "was in there fighting." He described the UAE leader as "a courageous man" with "a great country" and said the bilateral relationship had strengthened significantly since he returned to office. Trump added that the UAE had invested trillions of dollars in the United States, calling the relationship "outstanding."

Sheikh Mohamed thanked Trump for his "support and commitment" to US friends and allies throughout the summit, expressing particular appreciation for Washington's backing during the war. He said there was "a lot to talk about" to deepen the UAE-US relationship further. The two leaders met ahead of a working session with other G7 leaders.

The G7 summit in France brought together leaders of the world's major industrialized economies at a moment of significant diplomatic activity.

The US-Iran deal and its regional implications dominated discussions on the sidelines. Trump said the agreement marked a turning point, with energy prices already responding to the prospect of the Strait of Hormuz reopening fully.
