UAE evacuates 210 patients and relatives from Gaza in collaboration with WHO
Humanitarian mission brings 86 critically injured Palestinians, including children, to Abu Dhabi for life-saving care
The United Arab Emirates, in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), has evacuated 86 critically injured patients from Gaza to Abu Dhabi for essential treatment, including children and cancer patients in urgent need of care.
Accompanied by 124 family members, the patients were transported from the Kerem Shalom crossing to Israel’s Ramon Airport, where a UAE flight was waiting to bring them to safety. This marks the UAE's 22nd evacuation mission to support Gaza's most vulnerable residents.
“This new initiative reflects the strong levels of cooperation between the UAE and the World Health Organization, and exemplifies the UAE's steadfast and enduring commitment to support the brotherly Palestinians amidst the humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip," said UAE’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organisations Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi.
He added, "We remain resolute in our collaboration with the United Nations, international partners, and relief organizations, and we will continue to extensively undertake a leading and pioneering role in providing advanced healthcare to wounded Palestinians and those suffering from incurable diseases. We are steadfastly supporting endeavors to alleviate this humanitarian crisis using all available means."

This evacuation aligns with an initiative by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who pledged to treat 1,000 wounded children and 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza in UAE hospitals.
To date, the UAE has evacuated 2,127 Palestinian patients and their companions for medical treatment.
The UAE Field Hospital, established in southern Gaza on December 2, 2023, has treated over 50,000 cases. Additionally, a hospital ship anchored in Al-Arish Port since February 2024 has provided medical assistance to more than 6,400 patients.
The UAE has also delivered over 43,000 tonnes of essential supplies to the Palestinians, including food, medical, and other relief items.
