The UAE Accountability Authority has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to strengthen cooperation in combating corruption, the state-run WAM news agency reported.
The agreement is aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in anti-corruption efforts, promoting transparency and integrity, and advancing joint initiatives to prevent and address corruption.
The memorandum was signed at the UAE Accountability Authority’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi during an official visit by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Azam bin Baki, chief commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
He was received by Humaid Obaid Abu Shibs, chairman of the UAE Accountability Authority, according to WAM.
The agreement seeks to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions, promote the exchange of expertise, and support good governance frameworks in line with international best practices in anti-corruption.
WAM said the signing reflects the commitment of both authorities to advancing international cooperation in accountability, transparency and anti-corruption efforts.
The memorandum underscores broader efforts by the UAE and Malaysia to deepen bilateral relations through institutional collaboration in governance and oversight.
