Al Nuaimi underscored that the UAE has implemented comprehensive measures to fight human trafficking, reflecting its dedication to this global cause.
World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, observed annually on July 30, serves as a critical moment to raise global awareness and drive coordinated efforts to combat human trafficking. Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014, this day aims to spotlight one of the most severe and criminal issues affecting societies worldwide.
In addressing the complexities and evolving patterns of human trafficking, the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking has updated its policies and legislative frameworks.
“The aim is to prevent innocent people, especially children, from becoming victims and to utilize modern technology to monitor crime patterns and receive reports from victims,”

In 2023, a new law was enacted to combat human trafficking, providing services to protect victims and imposing stringent penalties on perpetrators. The law focuses on severe penalties for traffickers, especially when the victim is a child. Al Nuaimi also mentioned the launch of an electronic system by the Ministry of Justice to refer victims of human trafficking, aiming to protect their rights and dignity swiftly.
Al Nuaimi concluded by emphasizing the crucial role of international cooperation and solidarity in combating human trafficking.
Strengthening partnerships among countries and relevant organizations is essential to effectively address and reduce this transnational crime.
