Acting on the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates has dispatched a joint relief team to northern Afghanistan to assist communities devastated by the recent earthquake, WAM reported.

The team - comprising members of the Joint Operations Command, the UAE Aid Agency, and the Emirates Red Crescent - has begun on-ground assessments in coordination with Afghan authorities and international partners to streamline relief operations and expand humanitarian outreach in the hardest-hit areas.

To bolster the effort, the UAE has also launched an emergency air bridge to deliver life-saving assistance. Four aircraft carrying relief goods, medical supplies, and shelter materials have already been sent, alongside additional support sourced locally to ensure a swift and sustained response.

The UAE’s rapid deployment underscores its longstanding humanitarian policy of providing timely aid to disaster-stricken regions and reflects its continued commitment to easing human suffering worldwide.
