Avoid fines up to AED 5,000: Common jet ski and boat violations in Dubai

Dubai Police have released the top five jet ski and maritime vessel violations along with their corresponding fines, as seen in the image below.

Follow these rules to avoid hefty fines:

  • Regularly maintain your jet ski and renew its license on time to avoid an AED 1,000 fine.
  • Avoid using your jet ski outside designated hours (e.g., at night) to prevent an AED 2,000 fine.
  • Always wear life jackets; not wearing one will result in an AED 3,000 fine.
  • Operating tourist or private marine vessels outside authorized hours will incur a AED 1,000 fine.
  • Sailing in prohibited areas, like private islands and ladies' clubs, will lead to a hefty AED 5,000 fine.

Marine security patrols are always on high alert, ready to quickly tackle any maritime incidents 24/7, as directed by Dubai Police. Brigadier Dr. Hassan Suhail of the Port Police Station urged that all marine vessel owners should:

  • Perform regular maintenance
  • Check weather conditions
  • Ensure life-saving equipment is on board
  • Use the 'Sail Safely' service via the Dubai Police app
  • Contact 999 in case of emergencies
