A Bangladeshi expatriate was killed in Fujairah on Wednesday when debris from a drone intercepted by UAE air defense forces struck a farm, authorities and local media reported.

The interception occurred as UAE air defenses successfully neutralized the UAV, but fragments from the destroyed drone fell to the ground, causing the fatality.

According to Khaleej Times, the incident raises the UAE’s civilian death toll to 12 since the start of the US-Israel-Iran conflict. Most casualties have resulted from debris following air defense interceptions. Among the dead were two members of the UAE armed forces who died while on duty and a Moroccan civilian contractor.

The remaining fatalities included nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, and India.

UAE authorities reported on Tuesday that 188 people have been injured since the conflict began. On that day alone, air defense forces intercepted 12 missiles and 36 unmanned aerial vehicles.
