Dubai strengthens proptech sector with new DIEZ-DLD partnership
This partnership aims to drive innovation, support startups, and enhance ease of doing business in Dubai’s real estate market.

The Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) and the Dubai Land Department (DLD) have joined forces to accelerate growth in the property technology (proptech) sector. The partnership aims to drive innovation, support startups, and improve the ease of doing business in Dubai’s real estate market.

Aligning with Dubai’s Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) Grant Initiative, launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, this collaboration focuses on Cognitive Cities, which includes Proptech, smart mobility, traffic management, and smart grids.
Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ, emphasized the importance of creating a supportive environment for startups, SMEs, and tech-driven enterprises, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a global hub for innovation.
Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of DLD, highlighted the role of the partnership in integrating AI, blockchain, and emerging technologies into real estate, while also simplifying company setup and expansion under the Real Estate Evolution Space (REES) initiative.
Under the MoU, DIEZ will provide business licenses, visas, office space at Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Campus, and access to investors, while DLD will focus on technology adoption and market expansion support. Together, they aim to position Dubai as a leader in the future of real estate technology.
