Google has introduced its advanced video generation model, Veo 3, to users in Pakistan as part of a global rollout for Google AI Pro subscribers in more than 150 countries.

A spokesperson for Google in Pakistan said the cutting-edge tool allows users to convert their favorite photos into vivid eight-second video clips with sound, using the company’s photo-to-video feature built on the Veo 3 model launched earlier this year.

In just seven weeks since its global release, users have created more than 40 million Veo 3 videos, the company said. These creations span a wide range of content, including reimagined fairy tales, ASMR experiments, and other forms of digital storytelling.

Pakistan’s growing community of digital creators and content producers now have access to these tools and can explore new ways of expressing creativity, the spokesperson added.

Photo-to-video brings images to life

To animate a photo, users can select “Videos” from the tool menu in the prompt box and upload a picture. After describing the desired scene and any accompanying audio instructions, the image is transformed into a dynamic video clip.

The feature is currently available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in select countries. Users can animate everything from personal memories to artistic sketches. Once processed, the generated video can be downloaded or shared.

These capabilities are also integrated into Flow, Google’s AI-powered filmmaking tool.

Expanding possibilities with Flow

In addition to Veo 3, users can access creative features in Flow, which now allows them to add speech, sound effects, and background audio to their video clips. Google noted that audio generation in Flow remains experimental, and outcomes may vary.

The Frames to Video feature — which enables users to turn their personal images into animated clips — is now available on Veo 3 Fast. This allows subscribers to maximize the use of their credits.

Flow and Google AI Ultra are now accessible in more than 140 countries, expanding the global reach of Google’s AI-based creative tools.

Ensuring trust and safety in AI

Google emphasized its commitment to responsible AI development. All videos generated through Gemini, the AI engine behind Veo and Flow, include both visible watermarks and an invisible SynthID digital marker to signal that the content is AI-generated.

The company said it conducts “red teaming” exercises to rigorously test its systems, identify potential misuse, and prevent safety issues before they occur.

Google continues to evaluate the social impact of its tools and maintains policies to prevent the creation of unsafe content. The company actively seeks user feedback to improve safety features and product quality.

Users are encouraged to use the thumbs-up and thumbs-down buttons on generated videos. These ratings are used to improve the safety protocols and enhance the overall user experience, the spokesperson added.
