Pakistan’s top leadership extended Eidul Fitr greetings to the nation and Muslims around the world, urging unity, compassion and solidarity as the festival marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

In separate messages, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called on people to uphold the values of patience, generosity and brotherhood associated with Ramadan, while also remembering those facing hardship in Pakistan and abroad.

President Asif Ali Zardari urged the nation to carry forward the spirit of patience and piety cultivated during Ramadan. In his message, he emphasized unity and social harmony and encouraged people to share the joy of the festival with the less fortunate.

He called on citizens to promote brotherhood and ensure that those in need are included in their celebrations, while praying for peace, stability and prosperity for Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Eidul Fitr marks the culmination of Ramadan, describing it as “a month of patience, sacrifice, and spiritual renewal.”

“This blessed day reminds us of the enduring values of compassion, unity, and generosity that lie at the heart of our faith,” he said, extending his greetings to Pakistanis and Muslims across the world.

Sharif said the occasion also highlights the collective responsibility of the Muslim Ummah to stand united during both moments of joy and times of hardship. “In these testing times, what divides us is small and what unites us is far greater,” he said.

The prime minister noted that while people celebrate Eid with gratitude, “our hearts remain heavy for the people of Gaza and Kashmir, as well as our brothers and sisters affected by the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East and the region.”

“At a moment of uncertainty and instability, our greatest strength lies in unity,” he added, urging the nation to remember those less fortunate and work towards building “a more just, inclusive, and prosperous Pakistan.”
